Disco de Amber: “This Is Your Night”

I know what you're thinking-Another album with one song I know and like and ti hell with the rest of the songs because they probably suck. Am I right in thinking this? Well you're wrong. "This Is Your Night" is an all around great album and is an excellent party starter. While everyone knows the title track the rest of the songs are quite different. Unlike most dance/pop albums the songs are very different in their own right. While most of the songs are more of a pop infused dance beat you can tell that other genres of music also play a factor. For instance "One More Night" has a bit of R&B mixed into the song, while "Colour Of Love" is an all out dance track that can get anyone (yes, you too grandma) moving. "This Is The Right Time" sounds like a classic dance song that takes you back in time. "Can You Feel The Love" is an awesome dance song that you can never get enough of and the song "Let It Rain" is more of a ballad than anything else. Behind these delightful sounds are the Berman Brothers who worked with and hit it big with Real MCcoy before Amber and many of the songs are extremely reminescent of the sound that Real MCcoy created. In fact the song "Hold My Body Tight" sounds so much like Real MCcoy's song "Another Night" you'd swear it was a remix to "Another Night". Amber (born Marie-Claire Cremers) is the voice behind all of the songs and has an absolutely beatiful voice. She shows great versatality singing from one style of music to the next. All in all this is a great album and I suggest you go out and get it.

The Netherland-born, German-based dance diva entered the U.S. with the the club hit "This Is Your Night" soaring to number one in 14 U.S. cities and still being played in various clubs even today! The song is extremely catchy and will get you on the floor in a heartbeat! Marie-Claire also released two other hit singles, the deeply passionate and romantic slow jam, "One More Night'" which later spawned into the number-ultimate club anthem and the danceable, Euro-Pop gem, "Colour Of Love". "This Is Your Night" runs the gamet from the turbo-charged dance tracks of "This Is Your Night", "Move Your Body", "Colour Of Love" "Push It To The Limit", "Being With You" "Hold My Body Tight" and "Can You Feel The Love" to the hip R&B grooves of "You Are The One" and "Losing Myself In Your Love" to the slow, melodic "Let It Rain." This is my favourite album of all time and I listen to it everyday always being refreshed and rejuvenated by this set of tracks. Amber has a pretty voice and her lyrics beautifully flow with the beat and rhythm. Trust me, you love this cd as much as you love life itself!

I first got wind of this CD durring my freshman year of high school. To this day it remains my fav album in my endless music library. I'm the sort of guy who loves music with loads of guitars. This album does have that, however it is hiden very well benieth the over sampled pop melody and Ambers' sultry vocals. For me personally it's a great CD for anyone who wants to turn down his/her blinds and dance aroud their room like ideots. Also, it does have those overly romantic ballads that I am a sucker for. Sample lyric from "One More Night" One more night this time/I hold your hold your body very close to mine. Other choice cuts include the overly sexed up ballad "Let It Rain", and the dancy title track "this is Your Night". In sum if you want a great CD to totally dance out to or get intimately close to that special someone, this album is for you.

THIS IS YOUR NIGHT is the best CD I have bought! The cool tunes "One More Night", "Being With You", "Hold My Body Tight" can get me on the dance floor any time! Amber is the best dance artist out there!

I've been Amber's biggest fan since 1996. Most people think this is not a dance album but it is. You have to put the music to the context of the time when it was release: 1996. I remember in 1996 people are still singing Celine Dion it's all coming back to me now or Shania Twain's country-donkey songs. So THIS IS YOUR NIGHT is a very pop, dancy and upbeat album.
