I discovered this gem of a collection by good luck in Cuba. It was played to me by a Cuban friend and I just had to have a copy. We danced under the stars to Corazon Partido in Santiago de Cuba and I just fell in love with this track .... she was the perfect person to be with too! Like other non spanish speakers we know his music and words mean so much to us even if we can not understand the language. Could any one send me an English translation of the lyrics because I really want to know what he says too ? I also hear there is a new CD out is that correct and can anyone tell me more on this @ P.J.Tracey@derby.ac.uk

Here in the UK ...A.S is not known at all, well you know of course ! I love this music and listen to it so much i agree with everyone else so Wake up world and join us too !

Gracias Alejandro

- I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

This is by far the best CD I own. I can assure you that you won't get tired of listening to it; on the contrary, each time you will find it even more fascinating. I love how he varies the rhythm in every song and never repeats the same verse, so that instead of being repetitive, he surprises you every single time. If you understand spanish you'll appreciate how smart his lyrics are; extremely romantic and passionate but their meaning never explicit. Even if you don't understand a word he's saying, you'll still get caught up in his feeling... you just know the guy is singing his heart out... GET IT!

- Mas? How about Mess?

After all of the hype and countless favorable reviews posted about this CD I decided to see what all the fuss about. MAS is nothing like I expected. It's bland and filled with unnecessary melodrama. Alejandro has a great raspy voice but he doesn't let MAS breathe at all. Starting with "y, si fuera ella?" which would've been a decent song if he would just shut up once in a while. It doesn't end there though. He continues to overload each and every song with a truck load of words.

It seems that hooks are irrelevant on MAS. Not one song got stuck in my head. Not even a verse. There is no structure on this CD. MAS comes off as more of a melodramatic mess than anything else. The musical arrangements are just as bland. Each song is mid-tempo, watered down, pop/rock. To top it all off the songs are 4 minutes and over in length. I don't know how people gave this CD such great reviews. This isn't great latin pop at all. MAS is a complete mess. Note to Alejandro: let the songs breath next time.

I purchased this on a trip to Madrid. Our tour group leader was discussing music with one of the visitors, and mentioned this album as being the top selling CD in Spain. I thought it was worth a try, and am very glad I bought it. It is a romanric sounding album. It is not tejano-type music at all.
