Five does it again with this album...the first two cd's by them are very good, no doubt, but this album is their best one. In fact, it could be one of the best pop albums you could ever buy. Five could quite possibly be one of the best "boy bands" that ever made music. Their new songs on this album are very artistic and mature, and it's kind of like an ecclectic mix of different styles. It goes from being pure power pop on "Feel the Love" to a great ballad on "closer to me" to a sorta country sound on "take your chances on me". oh yeah and not to mention the fact that their vocals are Amazing! If you're looking for an interesting artistic variety of pop with a kind of hip hop flavor, then this is the cd for you. Just as the last person said "If you don't have this album yet, GO BUY IT!" Trust me you WILL NOT regret it. It's a pity that this group didn't really make it all that big in the U.S.
So far, so good; compared to Backstreet Boys' "Black And Blue" Album. Here's how I rate each track:
01 Let's Dance--Something for young females to dance for fun. 9/10
02 Lay All your Lovin' On Me--#1 track of the album, but it should have been released in radio stations of UK and USA. 10/10
03 Rock The Party--This song reminds me of "Miami Vice" of the early 80s, but it is more of the 70s version. 9/10
04 Closer To Me--A piano ballad song featuring J's mild rap. 9/10
05 Hear Me Now--Another song reminding me of "Miami Vice" of the early 80s, but something to run all over the daytime city's air. 9/10
06 Let's Get It On--This track should have been in 5ive's first album, but it's good to walk through the daytime Central Park. 9/10
07 Feel The Love--Another ballad with gospel choir. 9.5/10
08 We've Going All Night--A techno Microsoft commercial version, but not my favorite. 7/10
09 Take Your Chances On Me--A country beat song, but something to enjoy. 9.5/10
10 Something In The Air--A telephone dialtone background music in the party. 9/10
11 Breakdown--A version of Nelly's "Ride Wit Me" driving into the Southeast desert road. 9.5/10
12 On Top Of The World--A southeastern biker's favorite song version. 9/10
13 C'mon C'mon--Something to get together, but not my favorites. 8/10
B1 (25) World Of Mine--A real UK boyband's version of walking through Central Park. 9/10
B2 (26) All Around--A final track to say goodbye to 5ive. 10/10
A great CD, excellent dance songs, and a variety of good, mid tempo and slow songs to groove along to. These guys could've given Backstreet Boys and N'SYNC a run for their money if they were bigger stateside. Their music is stronger and the beats are harder. Standout tracks are "Let's Dance" "Feel the Love", "Lay all your lovin on me" and "Hear Me Now" could be a rockin' club banger. It stays in my stereo! A+ guys all the way. And personally I'm not really into boybands.... 5ive changed my mind.
I have been a fan of Five since 1997 and followed them since. This is my favorite CD of theirs! It's got something for everyone. This album is so fun to dance to. September 27, 2006 they announced their comeback on MTV. I am looking forward to their new music and more great albums from them!
You might consider it as a local American band, when you hear some of their songs. It is not as typical as US RAP style, but more comfortable! And the song"Until the time is through" is very European style and awesome!!
